Prof. Dimitrova, MD presented the new form of Canephron – Canephron forte, at the Annual Scientific and Practical Conference of the General Practitioners in Sofia

On 03.12.2022, at the Annual Scientific and Practical Conference organized by the Society of the General Practitioners in Sofia, Prof. Velislava Dimitrova, MD, Head of the Nephrology Clinic at Lozenets University Hospital, presented the product of the German pharmaceutical company Bionorica SE, Canephron forte.

Having in mind the frightening statistics published by WHO that if urgent measures are not taken, by 2050 antibiotic resistance will claim more lives than cancer, the solution proposed by Bionorica is an important step in limiting the unjustified use of antibiotics in the treatment of acute lower urinary tract infections.

Canephron forte may reduce the need for outpatient antibiotic treatment of uncomplicated UTIs, according to data from the CAN UTI 7 clinical trial, in which it was scientifically proven to be non-inferior to fosfomycin trometamol (FT) in the treatment of acute, uncomplicated cystitis.
